“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Lesson 1

NOVEMBER 5, 2018

Key Points

1. In the Bible, Jesus is at the right hand, on the right hand, and the right hand itself, which speaks of the position of power and intercession.

2. To have “heaven” (Gen. 1:1) or to have “release” (Deut. 15:2), you have to have the name (Shem שם).

3. If you want God “there” (Ezek. 48:35) or to “hear” (Deut. 6:4), call His name (She םmש).

4. Jesus’ primary purpose, as evidenced by His name, is to save us from our sins (Matt. 1:21).

5. With sin (chata’ חָטָא), the serpent surrounds us in strength to kill and destroy us but God saves us from sin and puts us in grace.

Lesson 2

November 12, 2018

Key Point

1. All of the “we” of God is wrapped in Jesus (John 14:5-9, 16-18, 26, 20-23).

2. Animals, man, and Jesus all have a trichotomy – spirit, soul, and body.

3. The soul speaks of our desires, affections, and intellect.

4. The Spirit, not the soul, is how we comprehend the things of God (1 Cor. 2:9-14).

5. Jesus allowed His Spirit to override his soul and flesh and we must do the same.

Lesson 3

November 19, 2018

Key Points

1. Animals, God, and man all have a trichotomy – spirit, soul, and body.

2. When Jesus’ soul did not want to go through in the garden, His Spirit overrode it and He “feared” and prayed “nevertheless” (Matt. 26:38-45; Luke 22:40-43; Heb. 5:7).

3. The Spirit, not the soul, is how we comprehend the things of God (1 Cor. 2:9-14). We must get beyond our body and what our soul wants to the Spirit.

4. When Jesus died, His spirit went to God (Luke 23:46), His body went in the tomb (Matt. 27:59-60), and His soul went down to hell to rescue souls (Acts 2:25-31).

5. Prayer and fasting get our souls under check so we can fulfill our spiritual purpose.

Lesson 4

November 26, 2018

Key Points

1. God made Himself a man and did such a good job that He put manly confines. Jesus Christ as a man did not know everything.

2. Jesus as a man made sure he kept his body and soul under subjection to God by prayer and fasting, showing us how to walk in the Spirit rather the flesh.

3. Fasting afflicts the soul and is a way to nail the devil to his own cross, to crucify the enemy.

4. Isaac shows us that relying on the soul and senses is how we get tricked and mess up. We must rely on the Spirit and be led by the Spirit to accomplish the will of God.

5. Jacob functioned twofold – sometimes as a natural man called Jacob and other times in the spirit as Israel.

Lesson 5

December 03, 2018

Key Points

1. God imposed limitations on Himself as a man, as the Son of God (Matt. 24:36-37; Mark 13:32; Phil. 2:3-8).

2. One spirit can be effective in more than one place at a time and in more than one being at a time (1 Cor. 5:1-5 ; 1 Kings 22:14-22).

3. Often times when the Bible talks about the Spirit it relates it to the mind (Rom. 8:5-6, 27; Ephesians. 4:23).

4. Grace is not just the love, kindness, unmerited favor of God; it is your life that occurs inside the fence – a place contrary to sin (Gen. 6:8 Chen חן; Rom. 5:1-2; Rom. 6:1-2).

5. A ghost is the spirit of somebody that had died so the Holy Ghost was not given until Jesus was glorified” (John 7:37-39).
