Spiritual Gifts – How To Be Used In Your Gifts
God gives us spiritual gifts for His Glory
One way that you know you have a gift of the Spirit is by the manifestation of the Spirit, or God using you in that gift. God’s picture of a gift is the Hebrew word (mattan – ַS:4976) which includes death (Meth, the first two letters) and life (Nun ן). If we’re going to be used in our gift we must be a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1-2). The Spirit divides the gSifts, giving them as God wants to whom He chooses, and then the gifts are the manifestation or exhibition of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:7-11).
To be used by God in our gifts more, we must stir up the gift and not neglect it. 2 Timothy 1:6 says, “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.” In order to NOT neglect the gift, 1 Timothy 4:14-15 says, “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.”
When you meditate on the gifts you should ask yourself, what did God say that I have? How did God say He’d use me?” The profiting that appears to all is not about money but it is when God uses you in HIS service for HIS will. It’s rewarding to be used by God and it is important for us to learn HOW to be used in our gifts in order to benefit others for God’s purpose.
